Our aims and practice history

Established in 1949 by Mr John Geary, Highgate Veterinary Clinic first provided an excellent service for all types of companion and farm animals in Kendal and the South Lakeland for 62 years. In 2011, shedding the farm side of the business, Highgate Vets became the first practice in Kendal totally dedicated to caring for pets and further refined it’s high level of veterinary expertise, client and patient care. Our vets have many years of combined experience with a wide range of professional interests and skills meaning that most conditions including complex diagnoses, treatment and surgery can be carried out at the clinic, often without the need for a referral centre. In March 2015, Highgate Veterinary Clinic expanded, opening Highgate Vets @ Beezon Road as a branch surgery.  The new clinic is open Monday to Friday during the day for a full range of services.  Highgate Vets @ Beezon Road has a dental suite, cat-friendly facilities and plenty of parking spaces too.

The team actively seek to improve patient care and customer service. All of the vets, nurses and reception staff regularly attend courses to further extend and develop their skills. The vets meet daily to discuss and seek each other’s thoughts and opinions about their current cases or the latest findings in veterinary research. “Our aim is to provide a friendly, affordable and professional service for you and your animals in a caring and supportive environment”
