Highgate Veterinary Clinic is centred
in Kendal on the edge of the Lake District, and offers
a friendly, personal and professional service to the
local area. In 1949, Mr John Geary established the clinic
as a single vet practice but now we have six vets and
six support staff.
Being in a rural location, we have a wide
variety of patients. Fifty per cent of our time is spent
treating peoples pet dogs, cats, rabbits, horses,
goats, pigs and alpacas and the rest on farm animals.
We have 140 farm clients who we help by
constructing health plans to ensure animal health and
welfare, treating sick animals, and running training
courses for farmers.
Similarly, we help our equine clients
to keep their horses and ponies healthy by advising
them on disease prevention.
Although all the vets are involved in
treating all species, they each have areas of special
interest and expertise
