Feedback on Product Success or Failure

Last month we saw three outbreaks of pneumonia in young sheep which had been recently vaccinated with Heptavac P. We’ve got to admit we see this often but two farmers felt strongly enough that they complained to the manufacturers. In response, the company, Intervet has launched an investigation into these outbreaks, offering to pay for veterinary time and lab fees. It is probably likely that no definite answer will be found as to the reason for these vaccination breakdowns but we may be able to devise better vaccine protocols with help from Intervet.

If things go wrong, giving feedback to us and in turn to the drug manufacturers is important. Initially, we can evaluate the situation and then perhaps advise on improving how the product is used. Secondly, many companies are keen to investigate if things go wrong. Finally, in the long term if enough complaints are made, a manufacturer may be encouraged to alter a product to improve it and so benefit us all.

Most of her experience is in beef cattle but she is keen to develop her skills in the dairy sector

Out of Hours Medicine Ordering

We are trying to give you the best deals on medicines but these downward trends on medicine prices mean that other parts of our service have to be charged for directly.

An example of this is when medicines are requested outside normal surgery opening times. If we have to make a special journey into the surgery, we will add a surcharge of £8.64.

We hope you can appreciate that supplying this type of service does come with a cost which we have to cover. Obviously, if we can put drugs out when visiting the surgery for another reason, we will not charge anything extra.
