I qualified as a vet in 1995 from the
Royal
Veterinary College, London. At that stage I wanted
to be a cow vet and learnt how to do the dirty work
at my first job in Garstang, Lancs. I then spent a few
years in mixed practice in the Midlands. As soon as
I could I headed north, firstly to Yorkshire, before
starting at Highgate in 2001.
I spend most of my time in the surgery
dealing with the small animal side of the practice
anything from hamsters to Great Danes! I do farm work
when I am on call, or if things get busy. I am also
in charge of veterinary nurse training.
I love the variety of my job and especially
enjoy talking to clients, operating, eyes and small
furries.
I keep my colleagues amused with
tales of my chaotic home life, helping my husband do
up our house whilst caring for my daughter and various
pets.
