I graduated from Middlesex University
in July 2007 as a registered veterinary nurse, and joined
Highgate Veterinary Clinic in November 2007.
I worked part-time before taking a sabbatical
to travel to Australia, New Zealand and America. Whilst
away I volunteered as a veterinary nurse for an animal
charity and rehabilitation organisation. Since my return
I have been working full time at Highgate Veterinary
Clinic.
A typical day consists of caring for in-patients,
taking blood samples, monitoring anesthetics, administering
medication, developing x-rays and discharging patients.
It also involves reception work which can be anything
from completing insurance forms and giving advice to
booking appointments.
Most of my spare time is taken up
caring for and exercising my horse, Jasper and I enjoy
competing in show jumping competitions at weekends.
Animals have always been a part of my life and this
is my ideal job.
